The mountain

Andermatt sits at 1,437 m in the Urseren valley, where the Gotthard, Furka and Oberalp routes meet, and its skiing is two mountains on opposite sides of the village. The Gemsstock cable car climbs via Gurschen at 2,206 m to 2,961 m, a steep mountain of mostly red and black piste; across the village the Gütsch-Express leads to Nätschen, Gütsch and the Oberalp Pass, where the lifts link on snow down to Dieni above Sedrun in Graubünden. Those two sectors come to roughly 62 km of graded piste on 17 lifts. The operator markets 180 km and 33 lifts for Andermatt+Sedrun+Disentis, which also counts Disentis, reached from Sedrun village by the separate Cuolm da Vi cable car and not joined to the Oberalp slopes on snow. Gemsstock opens first, on 14 November 2026, and the Oberalp link to Sedrun follows on 12 December.
