Obertauern sits at the top of the historic Tauern pass in Austria's Salzburger Land, with a village base at 1,630 m and lifts rising to 2,313 m. Its high-alpine setting makes it one of the most snow-sure resorts in the Eastern Alps, with a long season that runs from late November into early May. The lifts and pistes form a circular network, the Tauern circuit, that can be skied clockwise or anticlockwise back to the village.
