Kitzbühel is a medieval walled town in the Tyrol whose KitzSki area links Kitzbühel, Kirchberg and Mittersill across roughly 230 km of slopes served by 58 lifts. The skiing runs from about 800 m in the valley up to 2,000 m on the Kitzbüheler Horn, with mostly gentle and intermediate terrain and no glacier. It is world famous for the Hahnenkamm and its Streif downhill, one of ski racing's toughest and most storied races.
