Flumserberg sits above the Walensee in St. Gallen, about 105 km by road from Zurich Airport, and its operator bills it as the largest ski area between Zurich and Chur. The main base is Tannenboden at 1,400 m, the BergJet gondola climbs to the Maschgenkamm hub at 2,020 m, and the highest lift reaches 2,222 m on the Leist, with the lowest groomed runs ending at Tannenheim, 1,220 m. That is low for Switzerland: nearly all of the piste lies below 2,200 m, so natural snow cover follows the winter far more closely than at the high Valais or Graubünden resorts, and early-season openings lean on snowmaking. Bergbahnen Flumserberg markets 65 km of slopes, while OpenSkiMap's mapped geometry counts about 53 km of graded piste plus ungroomed ski routes. The SeeJet gondola starts at Unterterzen, which has direct hourly trains from Zurich main station.
